| Steam Name: [CB] -vG- Personalized Username Steam Page URL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Personalized/Steam #ID: U:1:96443877 Character's Name: Jack 'Scrappy' Maston Character's Backstory: (^Minimum of 1 Paragraph^) Jack was born and raised in the United States, Georgia to be specific. He belonged to a middle-class (but trashy) stereotypical gun-owning southern family. His father owned a range, and Jack was introduced to guns at a very early age. However, he always liked them from an engineering standpoint rather than a combat one, and worked with his father adding attachments and the like. He enjoyed it greatly, and stuck along that path for most of his early life. At around age 24, he heard from a friend about a place called the Zone. Learning about all the gun-toting wastelanders that would be great customers, he knew he had to get in. After paying a great deal of money, he met up with some shadier-types who agreed to get him in. Where the Character got the means to do Technical work: (^Minimum of 1 Paragraph^) Having made a decent amount of underworld connections trying to get into the zone, he easily got his equipment shipped in as well. He can send messages back and forth, and his gear is usually shipped in when newcomers are taken into the zone. In his case, it paid to have those connections. Jack uses these materials to do what he did at a young age, make scopes, silencers, grips, and pretty much anything within reason. When he doesn't have time, he generally pays stalkers to ship the messages. | |

| Assuming these shadier types needed a guy who could handle their weapons and armor for them, I suppose this makes some sense. Squires were historically used for this reason, and even today younger initiate members of gangs or groups usually do this sort of legwork. Not an outrageous backstory, perhaps one with a few loose ends, but - not something I'd worry much about considering how many bandits die and how many people replace them.
As for his method of supply - eh, it seems relatively standard. It doesn't seem out of order to start off with basic technician work. All the Admins know we could use more techs, so I'm leaning towards seeing this pass.
In short, I leave this page with wanting to give Personalized a try. I'm not sure how to examine the quality of his tech RP, without giving him a genuine chance. | |
